Academic Achievements

• Sharan Sarogi, 2018 pass out student from the Department of Microbiology of our College secured 1st rank in the Calcutta University Examination by scoring 80% marks.
• Shweta Gupta, 2018 pass out student from the Department of Microbiology of our College secured 5th rank in the Calcutta University Examination by scoring 76.3% marks.
• Nikita Banthia, 2019 pass out student from our college received the ICAI Certificate of Merit for securing 3 rd rank in the Final (New Scheme) Examination held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in January, 2021.
  1. She also received Shri N.Rangachary Silver Medal for securing the third highest marks an H.T. Kanabar Memorial Prize for the Best Paper in Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation (Paper 7)
  2. Nikita was certified by The Rotary Club of Calcutta with the Ratna Nandy Memorial Award for standing 1 st in Chartered AccountantsExamination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from Eastern India in November 2020/January 2021 at the Annual Endowment Awards Programme 2020-2021
     held on 15 th March, 2022.
• Ayushi Srivastava, Final Year (Semester VI) student of the Department of Microbiology ranked 2nd in Joint Admission Test (JAM) which is a National level examination for admission to M.Sc. at IIT/NIT/IISC and other institutions of repute.
• Rahul Sahal, 2020 pass out student of the Department of Zoology of our College is currently pursuing M.Sc. and Int. PhD from IISC, Bangalore.
• Ayushi Srivastava, Final Year (Semester VI) student of the Department of Microbiology of our College has been selected by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru to pursue Int. PhD Programme in Biological Science with scholarship under the GN Category.
• Neelanka De of Department of Microbiology won Best Student Award of 2021-2022 sessions from Microbiologists Society of India (MBSI).
• Atifa Ismail, of the Department of Food and Nutrition has currently become a successful Dietician who works in the Weight Management Department of Fitelo in Mohali.
• Piyali Das of Department of Food and Nutrition is currently doing her M.Sc. from West Bengal of Health Science. She has cracked 1 st rank in the Entrance examination to get to this prestigious Institution.

Co-curricular Achievements

• Arka Kumar Akuli, Megradri Roy and Srinjan Majumder of Semester V students from Department of Zoology of T H K Jain College secured SECOND POSITION in Quiz Competition in ZOO FESTVAL, 2022 organised by Zoological Garden Alipore on 16th November, 2022. The participants also got a cash prize of Rs.3000 and FIRST RUNNER UP TROPHY.

• Soham Chakraborty of BBA Semester IV came out as the Champion in Game of Thrones (both singles and doubles) at National -level Inter-college Sports Tournament in RCC Institute of Information Technology.

• Our student Tanvi of the Department of Botany won award in Acting & Modeling Workshop on 25.02.2023.

• Trishita Dey, Rajatabha Das, Priyanka Dhar of Computer Science Department won 1st position in Inter-college Poster Competition on National Science Day.

• Winners of various events of Xavrang 2023 organized by St.Xavier"s University, Kolkata on 12th & 13th of April, 2023 -

  1. Our College received the 2nd best College Award in Xavrang 2023.
  2. Our students Aman Agarwala and Rohit Agarwala - both from the Department of Business Administration were winners in "Shark Tank", a Management event.
  3. Our College Kabaddi Team consisting of 11 members turned out 1st runner-up in the Kabbadi Tournament.
  4. Chhavi Rustogi from the Department of Commerce stood 2nd runner-up in the event "Paint your Space".
  5. Harsh Raj Shaw became the 2nd runner-up in the event "Dance Face-off".
  6. Aryan Shaw and Ankur Biswas won the Best Seller award in "Book Designing and Story".
  7. Saswata Ghosh from the Department of Commerce stood 2nd in "Blackout Poetry".
      
• 7 students of the Department of Film Studies of T H K Jain College bagged First Prize in the Documentary Video Making Contest on 03.05.2023. The Documentary Video Making Contest was conducted by Ramkrishna Mission Saradapitha, Belur Math in collaboration with Peerless Skill Academy as part of "Azadi ka Mahotsav", an initiative of Govt. of India to commemorate 75 years of Independence. Their documentary was on Swami Vivekananda, "Universal Individuality, and Universal Religion". The Prize Distribution Ceremony was attended by the winners €“ Urboshree Banerjee, Ritama Dey, Aastha Sinha, Ankur Biswas, Prakriti Dubey, Sambit Paul and Subhadeep Dam of the Department of Film Studies.
• 8 students from the Department of Film Studies won Third Prize (2 nd Runner-up) in the event Emblaze at Heritage College.
• Our Student Sambit Paul of the Department of Film Studies produced the film, "Neel Asha". The film won Certificate of Appreciation in various categories, such as, "Best Bengali Film", "Best Cinematography" and "Best Director" in the Mahanayak Uttam International Kolkata Film Festival.
• IBS, Kolkata organized a 2-day event, ‘BRIO’23-24 Spectrum Soiree - A Celebration of Diversity’ on 24th November, 2023 where several colleges participated in fashion show, art and dance competitions. It was a grand event that took place in Bidhan Banquet, Bidhannagar.
  Our students enthusiastically went there to participate in a group dance event. Total 7 students from the departments BBA, Botany, Commerce and Computer Science took part in Eastern Dance Competition and stood out as winners. View Photos
• The Archaeological Survey of India (Kolkata Circle) organized a colourful symposium to commemorate World Heritage Week on 25th November, 2023 at the Currency Building, BBD Bag, Kolkata. The programme consisted of several events such as Drawing Competitions, Lectures by Special Guest and a Quiz Competition on Indian Heritage sites.
  Total 7 students of semester I from the departments of Commerce and BBA of our College participated in the Quiz Competition and emerged as winners. View Photos

MicrobiOlympiad 2021

The National Level and Quiz consisted of two phases; in the first phase students individually participated from all over the country on 6th March, 2021. In the second phase, the top three students who scored highest marks were selected from top 10 colleges and the final Online Quiz was held on 21st March, 2021.
