An Interactive Session on Women's Health, Hygiene & Nutrition during Young Adulthood was organized by the Women's Cell and the Department of Political Science on 21st May, 2022. The programme was conducted by our Guest Speaker, Dr. Debarati Mukherjee, MBBS, MD (Obstetrician & Gynaecologist). She addressed the major issues related to women's health & hygiene and spread awareness about the common ailments affecting women.
25 Girls students participated in a five day self-defense workshop, "Tejashwini" organized by the Kolkata Police from 16.03.2022 to 22.03.2022 for women aged 12 to 45. They visited Traffic Training School, Tala for taking part in the workshop. The finale was held at the Police Athletic Club (PAC) Maidan tent ground. The students were handed over T-Shirts and certificates.
The Women's Cell of our College organized Women's Day on the 8th of March, 2022. The programme was conducted by our Resource person Dr. Sharmistha Banerjee (Professor, Dept. of Business Management, University of Calcutta). The topic of the seminar was "Economic Empowerment of women: Rising Trend of Female Entrepreneurs in India".
The Women's Cell organized a webinar via Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/nuz-ouzx-hes) to observe Women's Day on 7th March, 2021. Dr. Chandrani Biswas, Associate Professor, St. Xavier's College, Kolkata delivered a profound lecture on the topic "A Room with a View: Women's Voices in Literature". She gave several examples of female representation in different works of fiction and also traced the general opinion over the years about the abilities and potential of the female sex.
